Adjunct Faculty - Applied Music: Piano and Chorale Accompanist

Adjunct Faculty in the Visual and Performing Arts, Education, and Science Division are responsible for providing instruction and formative and summative assessment of student learning.

Reporting to the Assistant Dean, Adjunct Faculty prepare course syllabi and design lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments to address different learning styles and ensure that students successfully meet the course objectives and outcomes. Adjunct faculty also incorporate learning centered principles and concepts and motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational experience.

Courses begin the week of August 22, 2022 through September 9, 2022 and complete December 17, 2022, Applied course may start at any point during the first three weeks of the spring semester. Courses available for the spring staffing include:
We need a pianist to teach applied (MUS 281) and to accompany the Chorale and Chamber Choir in rehearsals. Pianist with choral accompanying experience preferred.

Time commitment on accompanying portion:
The Chorale rehearses Tues and Thurs 12:30-1:45 in Von Ohlen 125. The Chamber Choir rehearses Fridays 1-3, also in Von Ohlen 125. Rehearsals begin Tues, August 23 and will go weekly through Dec 9. (Choirs will not rehearse Thanksgiving Break: Nov 22, 24, and 25.)

The Choral concert will be held in the Auditorium Sun, Dec 11 from 3:00-5:00.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Music preferred or master's degree in related field and 18 graduate credit hours in Music coursework.
