Overview

The Acoustical Technician will engage in research and development activities related to the acoustic design of professional audio products. This includes (but is not limited to) acoustical lab and equipment maintenance, the set up and performance of acoustical tests and measurements, documentation and data analysis. The employee will work under the supervision of the most senior team members, and due to the lab-centric nature of the position, must be present on-site during work hours. The assignment is estimated to last 3 to 6 months.

Base Pay Range $42,000 - 64,000

The above reflects the pay range that QSC reasonably expects to pay for this role. This pay range also depends on various factors such as job duties and requirements, relevant experience and skills and geographic location. In addition to the base salary range, QSC offers a comprehensive package including but not limited to health benefits, 401K or Roth retirement plans, generous time off and profit sharing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the acoustical labs and equipment, including daily clean-ups of lab spaces.

• Perform acoustic tests and measurements

• Perform basic analysis and organization of test data
Qualifications

• Must be self-motivated, meticulous and highly organized in order to complete tasks with minimal supervision

• 1-3 years of experience in an R&D lab environment, live sound environment, or manufacturing environment.

• Basic understanding of electronics preferred

• Basic experience with electronic test equipment (digital multimeter, etc.)

• Familiar with basic power tools. Woodworking knowledge a plus.

• Ability to solder preferred

• Experience with using basic word processing and data analysis tools (MS Word, Excel)

• Ability to follow directions with regards to test setup, protocol execution, and reporting

• Ability to move and lift heavy speaker cabinets (50+ lbs)

• Passion for the music/audio industry is a plus
