Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking an Accountant in Lake Mary, FL.Essential Duties:

• Prepares moderately complex analytical assignments and accounting related reports
• Assists with monthly, quarterly and year-end close activities
• Prepares and analyzes journal entries; proposes adjustments as necessary
• Prepares account reconciliations, actively investigates reconciling items and proposes resolution
• Demonstrates familiarity with a broad variety of data sources and process flows impacting accounting transactions
• Verifies records are processed, reviews posting issues and resolves errors
• Compares system outputs with daily input verifying for accuracy and resolves discrepancies
• Assists in the analysis and interpretation of accounting records for use by management, as required
• Takes a more leading role in guiding the company's compliance with the requirements of Sarbanes Oxley, GAAP, and Accounting Policy requirements
• Assists in the documentation of moderately complex accounting projects and provides guidance on accounting issues as needed
• Maintains records of routine accounting transactions

Skills

• A Bachelor's degree in a business related field; Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
• CPA certification or in the process of attaining the CPA certification is preferred
• Familiarity with FASB requirements and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office, especially Excel

Desired:

• Working knowledge of Microsoft office, particularly Excel
• Working knowledge of Google Suite
• Working knowledge of accounting systems and applications such as SAP, PeopleSoft, Hyperion Financial Management, and Blackline
