Position Overview

This integral member of the NPD team will report to the Director, Client Development in the Retail Business Group. If you enjoy working with clients to influence their business decisions, this job is for you!

Our Retail Business Group is currently seeking an Account Manager who will be responsible for managing and growing the relationship between NPD and several key retailers in the Fashion space. In this role, you will be accountable for building relationships, delivering insights and information, increasing the use of data and uncovering opportunities to deliver solutions and increase revenue.

This position is located in Port Washington, NY and may require some travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage strategic long range account plans and relationship maps aimed at deepening and broadening NPD's relationship with the clients
  • Enhance NPD's connection with the retailers through day-to-day servicing and relationship building
  • Grow revenue with clients by recognizing and exploring opportunities for additional services or projects
  • Expand the client base to include a broader mix of end users and expansion into new functional areas
  • Develop opportunities to build and support top-to-top relationships
  • Prepare analysis, insights and recommendations to clients in order to help them grow their business
  • Design, prepare and deliver concise, actionable presentations and be able to present them to large senior level audiences
  • Manage and track multiple projects from initial request through completion
  • Leverage multiple sources of information including industry knowledge, third party data sources and NPD information to deliver actionable insights to clients
  • Independently seek out resources within the clients and at NPD to help resolve issues
  • Build knowledge of the retail industry and your client's business
  • Work cross-functionally within NPD to help meet client's needs and manage their business
  • Manage of direct report


Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of experience in client service/account management, retail, market research or sales
  • Proven success in delivering analysis and insights to drive fact-based decision making
  • Ability to synthesize data and develop meaningful conclusions/insights using multiple data sources
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong presentation skills with a high comfort level presenting to large groups and senior audiences
  • Experience with building and maintaining relationships
  • Proven history of meeting and exceeding revenue goals
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Expert in all MS Office products (Strong Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • BA/BS or equivalent.
  • Travel - typically less than 10%
