Academic Hourly - Stadtmueller Lab

The primary functions of the position are to manage various laboratory tasks and to conduct independent research experiments to support a funded project.

Appointment Information
This is an Academic Hourly position with the expected start date is as soon as possible after the closing date.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage lab tasks such as autoclaving materials, preparing media, maintaining lab inventories, maintaining human cell lines in culture, cloning expression constructs, transfecting mammalian cell culture, harvesting and purifying recombinantly produced antibodies.
  • Conduct independent research experiments involving antibody characterization and engineering for the purpose of understanding and treating disease. Includes designing and conducting experiments, analyzing the results, interpreting the results, and proceeding to the next experiment.
  • Present these results to other scientists.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology or related field. Experience in a research lab.

Preferred Qualifications: Laboratory experience in molecular biology, protein biochemistry and/or mammalian tissue culture.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Basic laboratory skills such as pipetting and reagent preparation; Proficiency in techniques such as PCR, cloning, gel analysis, plasmid preparation, tissue culture, protein purification, protein structure analysis.
