The overall responsibilities of the Grounds Maintenance/Snow Removal Worker fall into the following areas:

• Performs snow removal as needed and directed. Shovels concrete and snow; cleans culverts and ditches; spreads sand and salt on icy roads and walkways; picks up leaves and trash.
• Safely and expertly operate gators and pickup trucks. Loads and unloads trucks and other conveyances; moves supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrows or hand trucks; stacks materials for storage or binning.
• Safely operate lawn equipment to include: riding mowers, weeding equipment, blowers, edging equipment, walk-behind mowers, etc.
• Perform cleaning and preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Collects refuse and salvageable materials; digs, fills, and tamps earth excavations; levels ground using pick, shovel, tamper, and rake.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Equipment/Software

• Experience using lawn maintenance and snow removal equipment.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

• Prefer some experience in grounds/lawn maintenance, landscaping and/or snow removal.

Physical Demands

• Ability to use tools and equipment of trade.
• Finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination is required to operate tools and machinery.
• Hearing and speech sufficient to verbally communicate in person and on the telephone.
• Mobility to frequently alternate between sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping and reaching.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds unassisted.

• Ability to read and complete work orders
• Ability to communicate both orally and in written format
• Ability to work as a team member
• Self-starter, able to work with minimal direction and supervision

Working Conditions

• Possess a valid driver's license and ability to drive and be an insurable driver for the Company.
