Position Summary

Department Description:

As part of Carlyle's Global Credit Platform, Credit Strategic Solutions ("CSS") focuses on 1) investing in directly originated structured financings primarily for insurance companies and 2) development of innovative and tailored investment products for Carlyle. CSS currently has $2.5 billion under management and pursues an asset focused investment strategy that includes private companies, private securitizations, as well as other structured finance opportunities. CSS utilizes its expertise in structuring, investment management and capital markets to develop highly differentiated products and structures that best leverage the capabilities of the broader Carlyle platform.

Position Description:

The Associate will be based in New York, NY and will be an integral part of the Credit Strategic Solutions ("CSS") team. The Associate will help drive two key aspects of CSS' initiatives 1) the business development and capital formation efforts for CSS including capital markets syndication of CSS-led transactions and 2) the development, structuring and execution of new strategies and products for Carlyle Global Credit and other strategic initiatives. The Associate will be involved in all aspects of CSS business development and capital markets efforts, with responsibilities that will include the following:

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking financial and market research
  • Assisting in the structuring and financial modeling of investment products
  • Preparing internal business plans including profitability analysis
  • Preparing external marketing literature
  • Managing capital raising process (including capital markets syndication of private CSS-led deals)
  • Understanding and communicating the key selling points of investment products and private deals to internal and external stakeholders
  • Engaging with internal salesforce to assist in capital raising process

Qualifications

Requirements
  • • 2 - 3 years of relevant experience in investment banking and/or capital markets
  • • Experience in transaction execution and credit is preferred
  • • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills required
  • • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • • Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills
  • • Positive attitude with strong multi-tasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
  • • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • • Mature and hard-working, strong executive presence; and
  • • Tenacious/persistent and humble - goes the extra mile with the right attitude
  • • Series 79 and 63 preferred but not required

Benefits/Compensation

The compensation range for this role is specific to New York City and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $150,000.

In addition to the base salary, the hired professional will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package spanning retirement benefits, health insurance, life insurance and disability, paid time off, paid holidays, family planning benefits and various wellness programs. Additionally, the hired professional may also be eligible to participate in an annual discretionary incentive program, the award of which will be dependent on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
