Position Summary

Carlyle's Global Investment Resources ("GIR" of "Portfolio Operations") team supports our $161 billion Global Private Equity (GPE) and $66 billion Credit segment, engaging with portfolio companies and Investment Teams across seven functional areas. The GIR Analyst position will provide project management and administrative support for our 7 functional area leaders across Revenue Growth, Digital, Technology, Procurement, Talent and Organization Performance, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), and Government and Regulatory Affairs. This individual will also support the GIR's Director with reporting, operations, and strategy as the GIR continues to scale to support our investment team and portfolio companies' needs. Furthermore, the Analyst will support Investment Teams during diligence processes, querying Carlyle's institutional knowledge, engaging GIR functional leaders, and building strong relationships with our investment teams across GPE and Credit. The ideal candidate is analytically minded and entrepreneurial, familiar with Private Equity, and looking for a two-year, pre-MBA experience in Private Equity portfolio operations.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

  • Manage day to day communication with various stakeholders across GPE and Credit investment teams, coordinating with appropriate GIR resources
  • Provide project management and administrative support to the 7 GIR functional area leaders
  • Own and update GIR presentation materials as needed for fundraising, investment pitches, portfolio company onboarding, and other uses
  • Execute investment team inquiries regarding portfolio data, history, credentials, institutional knowledge, and relationships
  • Analyze portfolio data and create infographics, pitch slides, and written materials based on data analysis
  • Execute requests from senior management for portfolio analysis, historical credentials, and other Carlyle information
  • Execute ad hoc fundraising requests from Investor Relations team
  • Create and distribute newsletters and reporting
  • Assist GIR leadership in creation and maintenance of training, tracking, and management documentation
  • Support GIR leadership in ongoing operational work and strategy development
  • Manage the central communications, responding to portfolio inquiries and other correspondence
  • Collect and centrally manage institutional knowledge and materials
  • Oversee day to day operations, support requests, and portfolio company inbounds
  • Support GIR administration on an ad hoc basis
  • Help manage central technology and knowledge management solutions


Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience
  • While structured learning and coaching will be provided, the following qualifications are recommended:
  • Minimum of 2 years of overall professional experience, required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in Investment Banking, or Management Consulting, ideally with experience in Private Equity, Venture Capital, or Corporate Strategy
  • Strong analytical skills and tools including Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of private equity/asset management business
  • Ability to translate strategic directions and business objectives into tactical work plans
  • Experience running high-impact initiatives within organizations
  • Active listening skills with the intellectual agility to integrate new information and develop recommendations
  • Well organized and disciplined approach to work effort and project management
  • Ability to work independently if needed and navigate a dynamic environment including partnership with various people to accomplish key initiatives.
  • Superb interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication on strategic, financial and operational areas
  • Interest in pursuing MBA following Analyst position
Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree required (Business degree strongly preferred)
